Before Cancun existed as a resort community, his travels brought him to the village of Puerto Juarez , just north of Cancun, where small colorful fishing boats crossed the blue waters of the Caribbean, taking travelers from across the globe to the majestic island of Isla Mujeres. Those fishing boats have now been replaced by small and comfortable ferries. While life has changed dramatically here in the Yuacatan Peninsula , now more commonly referred to as the Riviera Maya, the peace and relaxation remains.
